R. J. R. Raker died Monday night of this week at his residence in Cordova of liver trouble and complications. He had been ailing for the past two years. Only for a week had he been confined to his bed. He was one of the pioneers of the county, coming here In 1835. He lived on farm only four miles east of Cordova until two years ago when he moved with his family to the town, retiring from his many years of farm life. He was born In Gilead, Calhoun county, Ill Sept. 23. 1823 so that he lacked but one month and one day of 81years. He is survived by two brothers and one sister, Thomas and Volney of California and Mrs. Harriet Comstock of Portland. Ore. He also leaves to mourn his Ioss is widow and four children. Mrs Mirah Simpson of Pueblo. Colo, Leander J. Bakerr of Cordova and C. Lawrence and R J. R. Baker Jr, also of Cordova.
