Rev. Msgr. George J. Brennan son of George J. and Bertha H. Brennan attended Christ the King Seminary, St. Bonaventure University and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo New York on June 4, 1949.
His first assignment was as a missionary in Raleigh North Carolina. Upon return to the Diocese of Buffalo, he was assistant pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Niagara Falls; St. Mary, Batavia, where he was temporary administrator for a time; St. Peter, Lewiston; and Holy Family Church, Buffalo.
Monsignor Brennan was a part-time chaplain at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Batavia in the late 1950s and chaplain at St. Mary’s Manor in Niagara Falls in the late 1960s. He also was chaplain to Catholic Daughters of America, Father Baker Council.
In 1971 he returned as pastor of Holy Family. He retired from Holy Family in 1996.
