Mrs. Frances Steltz, 104, a long-time Big Stone City area resident, died Mar 4, 2011, in Devils Lake, ND.
Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Frances Edith (Pollock) Steltz was born Feb 14, 1907, in Milbank, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Schuerenberg) Pollock. She attended schools in Big Stone City, Geneseo Township, Roberts County and high school in Murdo. She graduated from high school in Big Stone City in 1925.
She married Otto P. Steltz Oct 19, 1926, in Ortonville. She and her husband farmed together in Lockwood Township, Roberts County. In 1940, they moved to the family farm near Big Stone City. Her husband died Jun 21, 1960. She lived the previous eight years with her family in Devils Lake.
She was a member of the Lakeside Extension Club for 40 years and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 229, Big Stone City. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sharon Steltz of Big Stone City; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
