He was born April 10, 1957 in Clinton to Richard K and May M. Wills Sparks. He was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Barker, and nephew Sean Barker.

Surviving are his father, Richard K. (Sharon) Sparks, Hudson; mother, May M. Sparks, LeRoy; one daughter, Ashleigh Sparks, Bloomington; one son, Brandon Houston, Bloomington; two brothers, Michael Sparks, Bloomington and Dave (Tina) Sparks, LeRoy; two grandchildren, Illeyna Houston, LeRoy and Jase Sparks, Bloomington; uncle, Ronald (Marilyn) Sparks, Bloomington; cousin, Angela Sparks, Gridley; special friend, Vickie Archibald, Bloomington and many nieces and nephews.
