13 Jan 1923: The entire Union Township region is shocked to learn of the death of Elmer Norman Fake, which occurred yesterday afternoon at one o'clock, at the age of 44 years. Death came suddenly as the result of a carbuncle. He was one of the prominent farmers and citizens of the Murray District. Besides conducting his farm, he worked in the mines of Schuylkill County. He held membership in the Jonestown Lodge of Odd Fellows. Surviving are his his wife and three sons; Warren, a student at the Hahneman Medical College, of Philadelphia; Lloyd and Elmer. The following sisters and brothers are also left; Katie Fake, of this city; Mrs. Christian Long, of Inwood; Mrs. F. Fritz, of Philadelphia; and Grant Fake, of Reading.
