Lee Rector, 72, of Burlington, a former Ottumwan, died Monday at 7:45 p.m.
He was a retired C.B. & Q. Railroad telegrapher. He began working for the railroad on Sept. 14, 1907, and retired Dec. 1, 1955.
He was the son of James S. and Carrie Cannon Rector and was born in Creston on July 29, 1889.
Surviving are a son, William K. Rector of Lewes, Sussex, England; and a nephew, James B. Briggs of Ottumwa. Preceding him in death were a brother, John, who died in 1958, and two sisters, LuVerne Barcus and Florence Briggs.
The service will be held Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel with Rev. D.W. Holmes, assistant pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
