Had a milliner store at 2031 Ridge Avenue as early as 1892 and into the early 1920s. William, her nephew and Virginia, grand-niece, recalled that she and sister Helen both had millinary stores. He recalls being in the back room of his Aunt Mary's store on Ridge Avenue and customers coming in to shop. Mary had two girls working in the store that would tell customers, "that hat was just made for you".
