Charles Abel Dies of Heart Trouble After Several Weeks' Illness
Charles Abel died at his home, 118 S. Hough street, Monday morning, Nov. 6 following an acute illness of five weeks. Death was caused by heart trouble. Mr. Abel had not been well during the last year.
Funeral services were held at the chapel, 203 S. Cook street, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Charles R. Drussel, officiating. Burial took place at Evergreen cemetery where the Independent Order of Odd Fellows was in charge.
Mr. Abel was born in Iowa August 10, 1869. He had been a resident of Barrington for the last 46 years and had been an employee of the Hart Schaffner and Marx Co., Chicago, for 13 years.
Mr. Abel was a member of the Lounsbury lodge No. 751, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows No. 856, and the Modern Woodmen of American No. 809.
A niece, Mrs. Edward Burns of Chicago, and a nephew, Earl Maxon of Des Moines, Ia., are the only surviving relatives.
