BAYES, Chap, age 76, of Rt. 1, Lynden, passed away in a local hospital Sunday, April 10, (1949) following a lingering illness. Mr. Bayes had been a resident of the Lynden district for the past 43 years and was a member of the Lynden Baptist church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Lydia Jane; one daughter, Bonnie Wanda (Mrs. Harry Stuurmans), of Sumas; two sons, Russell of Spokane, and Marshall of Lynden Rt. 1; three sisters, Laura Ellen Bayes and Dorcas Elizabeth, (Mrs. Will Oakley), both of Oakland, Illinois, and Sarah Margaret (Mrs. William Howard Sims), of Charleston, Ill.; two brothers, Sanford Marion of Marysville, and Elijah Wilson of Parsons, Kans.; also six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 12, at 2 p. m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, with the Rev. Cecil Barner officiating. Interment in the Lynden Cemetery.
