Actor. He was a popular comic actor noted for his classic trademark fidgety finger movements and an excited "Woo Woo" sound. He began his career in vaudeville, wrote more than 150 plays and comedic sketches. For feature films, he worked mostly for Warner Bro., often impersonating eccentric millionaires, tycoons and dimwitted professors. Among his 111 film credits are, "Danger Lights (1930), "Gold Diggers" (1935), "Private Affairs" (1940), "One Way to Love" (1946), "A Song is Born" (1948) and "Woo Woo Blues" (1951), He died in North Hollywood, California and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
