Captain Raymond Anderson, 81, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange.

He was born August 18, 1929 in Tallassee, Alabama, son of the late George Willie Anderson Sr. and Viola Fannin (Anderson) Bates. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church, was a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and was a retired Captain from the LaGrange Police Department after 30 years of service. Captain Anderson was a United States Army veteran having served as a Military Police Officer for six years.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Gary Brooks of LaGrange; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Joe and Jennette Anderson of Chipley, FL; sister-in-law, Pauline Anderson of Eufaula, AL; nephews, David Anderson and Joseph Paul Anderson both of Eufaula, AL. and Richard Anderson and Ronald Anderson both of Chipley, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Buna Anderson and a brother, George Anderson, Jr.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 Tuesday at Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Reverend Max McCord officiating. The family will be at his home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5:00 until 7:00.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make contributions in memory of Captain Anderson to Hospice LaGrange 1510 Vernon Road LaGrange, Georgia 30240.
