Aaron E. Goodman, 83, of Utica, passed away Sunday evening, February 11, 2007, in Faxton-St. Luke's Health Care Center. He was born on June 4, 1923, in Utica, the son of the late Louis and Mae Davis Goodman. Aaron was a graduate of Proctor High School and Syracuse University. Aaron along with his brother, Arthur, owned and operated Goodman's Carpets, formally located in New Hartford. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II. Aaron was a member of Temple Beth El and its Cemetery Committee and was very active in Minyonaries. He was also a member Moriah Lodge #958, F&AM, Past Noble Grand of Jonathan Lodge #944 I.O.O.F., and member of Ziyara Temple, AAONMS. He is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Beth and Joe Secker of Smithtown, NY, and Lesa Goodman of Oakcreek, CO; his son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Beth Goodman of Solon, OH; his two brothers and sister-in-law, Arthur Goodman of Rome and Harold and Shelia Goodman of Narbeth, PA; his grandchildren, Sarah Goodman, Jordan Goodman and Eliana Goodman; several nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, from Temple Beth El, 2710 Genesee St., Utica, with Rabbi Jeffrey Segall, officiating. Interment will be in Jonathan Lodge Cemetery, Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Wednesday until the time of the service at Temple. Shiva will be observed 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, 1-3 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday and 1-3 p.m., Friday at Mr. Goodman residence at 10 Foery Drive, Utica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Temple Beth El Minyonaires. His funeral arrangements are with Jacobson-Pizer Funeral Chapel, Inc., 470 French Road, Utica.
