He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran.
He was a member of Stauffer Mennonite Church, Hershey and the Elizabethtown American Legion. Additionally, he was a member of many area bands including the New Cumberland Town Band.
Francis was born in Springettsbury Twp. to the late Francis L., Sr. and Viola E. (Withers) Olweiler.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Haskell) Olweiler; four sons, Mark, Ross, Francis L., III, and Nathan H., all of Elizabethtown; a daughter Sandra Lee Horne of Elizabethtown; his step-mother Dorothy Olweiler of Elizabethtown; a sister, Mariana Allen of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Chester R. of Cornwall, J. Phillip of Hilton Head, SC and Jacob Nissley of Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
