- John Muir, Sr., died at Lonaconing last Thursday, aged 79 years. He came from Ayrshire, Scotland 49 years ago. About 40 years ago Mr. Muir received injuries which disabled him to such an extent that he had been unable to work for a number of years past. Besides his aged widow, he is survived by the following named children: Michael and Mrs. Isaac Bradburn of Lonaconing; John of Lonaconing; William of Midland; Matthew of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Mrs. James Martin of Cumberland; Mrs H. H. Atkinson of Lonaconing and Robert who is now at the Hot Springs for the benefit of his health. His funeral was Sunday.

*Family tradition is that the one of the wooden arms of John's favorite chair was dented and exremely worn where rested his arm.
