According to his Washington State death certificate, Elmer was the son of Allen Conger and Elizabeth Young. His wife was named Jane Francis Conger. He was a farmer.

"DEATH CALLS ELMER CONGER

Elmer Ellsworth Conger, 72, father of Ralph and Harold Conger of Kent died at his home in Thomas on Saturday, April 10, after a residence of 40 years as a respected citizen of this community. he had been ill with paralysis for two years.

Funeral services held on Tuesday, April 13 at the Chittenden Funeral Home were officiated by Rev. Sawhill, with burial in the Kent Cemetery. Mr. Conger was born October 15, 1864 in Washington, Iowa.

Survivors are his widow, Jane Francis of Thomas, Ralph and Harold of Kent, a step-son, Frank Leslie of Kent, Vera Carlson, Elizabeth Morey, both of Kent, Lula Conger of Thomas, a step-daughter, Rose Curtin of Port Angeles.

Pall-bearers were Lou Rader, Bert Hardin, Russell Cuddie, Denny Armstrong, William Quinn, and Loyd Robertson."
