Frederick Douglas Washington, 96, of Lubbock passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Covenant. He was born Nov. 18, 1914, to the late David and Lura Washington in Puducah, Texas. He attended school in Tahoka, Texas, and later joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was employed with TNMO Bus Line for several years, later employed by Motor Machine Service, where he worked for 40 years, and worked for Lubbock State School as a foster grandparent.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Leo, Fredrick D. (Tamela), William M., Victor D. (Robbin), Anita J. Durley, Josephus Blackmore (Louise), V. David, Joe A. (Jeanna) and James L. Palmer (Tonya); 39 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Williams and Bobbie Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
