Sterling H. Behney II, 64, of Lyons Station died Friday, March 4, 2011, of natural causes in his residence.
He was the husband of Dorene R. (Schwoyer) Behney.
Born May 7, 1946, in West Reading, he was the son of the late Sterling H. & Alice L. (Tuttle) Behney.
He was a 1964 graduate of Kutztown High School and a 1969 graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College having earned a BA in Economics.
He was a member of Grace ECC, Kutztown, where he was past President of Church Council and a member of the choir.
Sterling was also an avid fisherman.
He was a local insurance agent for many years, and was the Mayor of Lyons Station for 20 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Melissa J., wife of Carl A. Dunn, Lenhartsville; Jennifer L., wife of Ethan A. Kunkel, Kempton; and Amanda S., wife of Michael S. Minnich, Wernersville; and nine grandchildren: Jordan, Cooper and Ashton Dunn; Morgan, Ellissa, Hallie, Landon and Dalton Kun-kel; and Ava Minnich.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Grace ECC, 421 W. Main St., Kutztown, PA 19530.
Interment will follow in Lyons Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.
The Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home, Inc., Kutztown is in charge of arrangements.
