Bob Cooley 82 passed away peacefully at home after a three year battle with cancer.

He was born to Arthur and Ermile O'Neal Cooley in Clarkston, Washington. When he was five he moved to Corvallis, Oregon where he was raised and schooled. After High School graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy for two years stationed on the island of Guam.

When Bob returned from the military he went to Oregon State University and Eastern Oregon College. Bob was a Beaver fan until his dying day. He was a very private person but, lived a very well balanced life of work, play and family.

Bob had met and married Virginia Martin Cooley in 1963, and they were partners until the end. Bob was an Oregon State Trooper for 30 years, retiring in Bend. He continued working in private investigation and later three years as the Chief of Police in Sunriver, OR.

Bob's passion was watching football, and traveling in his motor home especially up and down the Oregon Coast. He was a super husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife Virginia of Bend; son Patrick Cooley (Dorey) and their children Justin, Morgan and Zack all of Burns, Oregon; son Terry Martin (Carol) of Bend, Oregon; son Nick Martin (Anne) and their daughter Alicia of Willow Creek, California; a daughter Stephanie (Chris) Petford, Oro Valley, Arizona and their children Alec and Cody; daughter Victoria (Niel) Serr and their daughter Samantha of Vacaville, California; and Bob's brother Tom (Fran) Cooley of Coos Bay, Oregon.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful people of Hospice who helped Bob remain at home until he passed.

There was a private inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend, Oregon.
