Aged 94, died February 5, 2011. Ruth was born in Toledo, OH on April 23, 1916, to Mary Elizabeth Moyer and Rev. Henry Royer Kreider. Ruth married William Albert Hiltner on August 12, 1939. They lived for many years in Williams Bay, WI and later in Ann Arbor, MI. Ruth was active in volunteer work all her life, including serving as President of the Badger Girl Scout Council from 1966 to 1970. Ruth is survived by brother, Henry Kreider; daughter, Kathryn Mook; sons, William and Stephen; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter Anne; and her sister, Josephine Auten. Interment will be at Lutheran & Reformed Cemetery, Rebersburg , PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ruth and Albert Hiltner Fund in Astronomy at the University of Michigan, 500 S. State St. Suite 5000, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1382.
