Mrs. Nellie McClain, of Hamilton township, Clare county, died Tuesday, May 15, after an illness of 11 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Gladwin Methodist Episcopal church, with Rev. Charles Hahn of Clare, conducting the services. Prayers will be held at the Hall Funeral Home at 1:30 Thursday.
Mrs. McClain, born Nellie Wyckoff, was born in 1881, in Potter County, Pennsylvania. She came to Hamilton county at an early age, and married Samuel McClain in 1898.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. Kate Bauer, Mrs. Josephine Collins, Mrs. Ruth Montney, and Mrs. Agnes Walters, all of Clare; Mrs. Maggie Ordiway, Pickford, and Mrs. Ida Mary Loomis, now at home; 4 sons, Harold, of Marian, Everett of Lansing, James of Sanford, and Sam Jr., at home; and two brothers, Orson and Arthur Wyckoff, of Houghton Lake.
