Clyde Cronan was a son of William H. Cronan and Effie Vilura Caulkins. He married 1) to May Avery in 1902 and had two sons; 2) to Mildred Weekley in 1922 and had four more children with her. William and Mervyn were May's children. Also Family Search has 10 April 1881 as date of birth for Clyde in Algona, Kossuth Co. Iowa. Quite likely as Cronans and Caulkins lived in that area.

According to her obituary in the Waterloo Courier (Feb. 9, 1942):

Mrs. May Cronan, 59, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 1942, in St. Francis Hospital of carcinoma. She lived with a son, William, Route 1, and had been ill about six months and a patient in the hospital about one month. May Avery was born in New York City in 1882 and had lived here about 20 years. She was married to Clyde Cronan, who died several years ago. Surviving are two sons, William, and Mervin, Algona, Iowa, and a brother, Mervin Avery, living in Canada. Mrs. Cronan was a member of the Salvation Army. The body was taken to the Kearns Garden chapel.

Special thanks to "ims" for catching the error on Clyde's wives and pointing me in the right direction!
