Ronald L. Marusek, age 66, of Winterset, died at his home Friday, February 11, 2011.

Ronald Leonard Marusek was born in Chicago, IL on September 22, 1944 to Michael and Rose Catherine (Nanjestnik) Marusek. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from September of 1965 to November of 1967. After serving in the Army, Ronald worked as a security guard.

Ronald was never married and was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by a sister, Elaine Nahnybida of the Rock Island, IL; a brother, Mike Marusek of Ocala, Florida; caregiver and friend, Joe Wymer and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delores and a brother, Joseph.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16th at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter. Military honors will be provided by the Iowa National Guard out of Johnston, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8142 and the American Legion Post 184 both of Winterset. Memorials may be directed to the Beaverdale V.F.W. Post #9127, 4029 Urbandale Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset has been entrusted with arrangements.
