SOUTH BEND - Emery M. ''Mac'' Szabo, 76, of Club Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, May 11, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mac was a chief tool & die designer for 45 years, retiring form Huckins Tool & Die. He was born on Oct. 2, 1921, in Sopron Megye, Hungary.

On June 2, 1945, in South Bend, he married Dorothy Johnson, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Mark A. (Sue) Szabo of Kentucky and Craig W. (Nancy) Szabo of Mishawaka, Ind.; a grandson, Adam Szabo of Mishawaka; and three brothers, Alex Szabo, Edmund Szabo and Steven Szabo, all of South Bend. Mr. Szabo was an active member of the Calvert Rod & Gun Club in South Bend.
