Civilian casualty of the Great War,Alfred, aged 31 years, his wife, Annie,aged 32 years and Ella Maud Hammond, aged 3 years & 6 months, were three of the four civilians killed in Braintree during an air raid by a German Zeppelin, L 14. All three are interred together.

In ever loving memory of Alfred Dennington aged 31 years also of Annie wife of the above aged 32 years and of Ella Maud Hammond aged 3 years & 6 months who were killed in Braintree during an air raid on 31st March 1916.
A bitter grief a shock severe to part with those we loved so dear Our loss is great - we'll not complain but hope in heaven to meet again.
In death they were not divided
