Vearl Hanks Sr.

Vearl O. Hanks Sr., 75, of Mascoutah, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville.
He was a retired employee of Fisher Body Company, St. Louis; and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah, and the Mascoutah Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emilie Friess; two sons, Vearl O. Hanks Jr. of Mascoutah and Marvin Hanks of Glenview, Ill.; two brothers, Rex Hanks of St. Louis and Leo Hanks of Montazuma, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Abbot, Mrs. Lora Hill and Mrs. Sylvia Hopkins, all of St. Louis; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, until noon Saturday at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, and at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday. A Senior Citizens service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah.
