Grover C Ankeny, 70, of 907 Hull Ave SE Cedar Rapids resident since 1949, died at his home late Wednesday afternoon, Nov 2, 1955, after a brief illness. He was born in Clay County, Kan, Nov 20, 1884. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Thomas Ankeny, to whom he was married Dec 18, 1907; 3 daughters, Mrs Eugene Himes of Cedar Rapids, Mrs Vernon Himes of Prairieburg and Mrs Arthur Booth of Marion; 3 sons, Clair of Marion, Leslie of Cedar Rapids and Donald of Chicago; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs Grover Payne of Newark, MO and Mrs Lucy Schoonmaker of Aken Palisades, Minn; and 2 brothers, Irwin of Cedar Rapids and Lester of Anamosa. Two sons, Lawrence and Leo preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held in the Kuba Funeral Home Saturday afternoon. Burial at the Jordan's Grove Cemetery.
