She married P.O. Partain on 5 January 1885. There were five children born to this union, three preceded their mother in death. Two sons died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Lula Higdon, died in 1943.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church with Rev. W.H. Townsend and Rev. J.W. G. Hill officiating for Mrs. Sara Francis Partain, 83 of Olney. Mrs. Partain had been ill for about three years and passed away at her home, 412 W. Groves Street.
Survivors: son - W.B. Partain of Olney, daughter - Mrs. Pearl Matheny of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
