MARION - Eleanor Sue Barton Allen, 85, formerly of Marion, and daughter of the late Eleanor "Polly Piedmont" and William Perry Barton, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011.
A 1946 Furman University graduate, she was predeceased by John O. Allen, M.D. (Furman, 1943) whom she married in 1945.
Surviving are her children, Mary (Bud) Goble, Sue (Ernie) McInerney, John (Susan) Allen and Harriet (Tommy) Rockett; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Greenville, Carpenter Chapel, with a memorial service following at 12:30 p.m.
