On December 13, 1951 Ken was united in marriage to Carole Fjerstad in Mason City, IA. They made their home in Brooklyn Center. He worked at Honeywell for 37 years retiring in 1988 as a property manager of MAVD. Since his retirement they moved to their lake home in McGregor, and he was a chairman of Workman Township board and a member of Grace Lutheran Log Church. His greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carole 1 daughter and son-in-law: Leslee (Cal) Curtis One son and daughter-in-law: David (Debbie) Holten Grandchildren: Jesse (Danielle) Holten, Angela (John) Bladow, Carrie Sharpe, Lisa (Ray) Martin, Cyndee Curtis Great grandchildren: Noah Sharpe, Hannah Bladow, Aidan Holten, William Bladow, Evan Bladow, and Samantha Holten 1 sister: Audrey Hench Besides many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Mattie (Thompson) Holten and sister Donna Hansen.
Funeral services will be 11:00A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church, McGregor. Reverend Dan Heath will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8P.M. Friday at McGregor Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials given to Grace Lutheran Log Church Memorial Garden Fund.
