He was a Sargeant in the US Army, World War I.
He married Carriebelle Carr. He was a dairy farmer in Randolph and Cattaraugus county, New York
The couple had two children.

Floyd W. Jones, 80, of Point Peter Road, Gowanda, died Wednesday, April 14, 1976 in Tri-County Hospital, Gowanda.
Born in the town of Napoli on August 12, 1895, he was the son of George and Bertha Klock Jones.
He had owned and operated dairy farms in Randolph and Cattaraugus, prior to his retirement 19 years ago, when he moved to Gowanda.
He was a veteran of World War I.
He married the former Cariebelle Carr in Randolph in 1921. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Barton of Jamestown and Mrs. Helen Johnson of Kennedy; a brother Howard Jones, of Ellicottville; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Jones, of Randolph.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM Saturday in the Hoitink funeral home, Randolph. The Rev. Harold E. Schwantes of the East Randolph United Methodist church officiated. The bearers were Allen Bowers, Arthur Harrington, Basil Barton, James McKillip, Donald Niles, and Guy Norse. Burial was in Steamburg Cemetery , where a military graveside service was conducted by Randolph Legion Post 181.
