Albert was the fourth child of six children born to Uriah Ecker and Ellen L. Ramsby. He married Grace Price (daughter of Albert Price and Isabelle Nelson) on 13 Dec 1890 in Lagrange, Indiana. They had three children:

His wife died in childbirth when Stanley was born. Albert remarried to Ethel Maude Stewart (Miller) in April 1918 in Lagrange, Indiana. They had no children together.
