Charles F. Benton, son of John Wesley Benton and Sarah jane Fraley, is buried here with his wife, Amanda Elizabeth Griffin, daughter of Robert William griffin Jr. and Sarah Ann Baker. The couple had lived in the St. John area and built their homeplace on their farm in the area prior to moving to Colorado where others of the family had located. They had seven children: Walter Elmer, Lloyd Francis, Edith, Elsie, Ralph Edgar, Claire and Ruth Louise.
