GEORGE VANCE DIES;
NATIVE OF MACON
George G. Vance, 83, native of Macon County, died of a heart attack at 1 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Batey, Auburn lane.
Funeral services will be held at Eula church in Sumner county at a date to be announced later
Mr. Vance was born, reared, and educated in Macon county, but spent most of his life in Sumner county, near Westmoreland, where he was a farmer.
He retired about three years ago and came to Nashville to make his home with his daughter.
Mr. Vance was a member of the Methodist church.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Jackson Vance; two other daughters, Mrs. William East of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Mrs. R. D. Graves of Indianapolis, Ind.; three sons, John J. Vance, Junction City, Kansas, Ferrell J. Vance, Abilete, Kansas and Robert Vance, Forth Worth, Texas; a sister Mrs. Nancy Templeton of Trousdale county; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
