Mrs. Lucy Bodmer
One of the oldest and most respected residents of West Utica, Lucy Manthy, widow of Christian Bodmer, died at her home 18 Parker street, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Last November she was taken ill with asthma, but It was not until two weeks ago that her condition was considered serious.

Mrs. Bodmer was born in Germany, August 29, 1836. Forty-seven years ago she married Mr. Bodmer and shortly after their marriage they came
to Utica. Mr. Bodmer died about 15 years ago. She was a charitably disposed woman and had a wide circle of friends. She was a member of the
First Moravian Church for over 40 years.
She leaves two sons: Charles Bodmer of St. Louis and Christian Bodmer of Utica; three daughters,
Mrs. Charles Greenwood of North
Adams Mass., and Mrs. Henry Berg and Mrs Edward Roberts of Utica, and ten grandchildren.

*Upon the death of her daughter Lena Bodmer Peters, Lucy took in her then five year old grandson, Harold Bodmer Peters, and raised him until the time of her own death. Harold Bodmer Peters, at the young age of 17 assisted in the carving & sculpting of the Baron Von Steuben Monument which is located on the Parkway in the city of Utica.
