MONMOUTH - Marjorie P. Bickford 86, (born June 5, 1910), formerly of Main Street and of Machigonne Street in Portland, ME, died Saturday, December 14, 1996, at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland, where she had been a resident for the last year (1996).
She was born in Freeport, ME, on June 5, 1910, to Fred M. Parker and Blanche E. (Grant) Parker. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1928.
On August 12, 1960, she married Bernard L. Bickford in Durham, ME.
Mrs. Bickford was employed as a Secretary, Assistant Treasurer and Deputy Tax Collector for the Freeport Town Manager for several years. She also, worked as a Secretary for the Maine State Department of Mental Health, retiring in 1972.
She was a past member of the United Church of Monmouth and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing bingo.
Survivors include her husband of Portland, ME; two sons, Ronald P. Small, Sr. of Buxton, ME and Wayne G. Small of New Gloucester, ME, a sister, Audrey L. Wilson of Bowdoinham, ME; five grandchildren, Laurie A. Small of Gorham, ME, Ronald P. Small, Jr. of Buxton, ME, Stephanie L. (Small) Shaw of Portland, ME, Cheryl A. (Small) Jodoin of Corinna, ME and Douglas W. Small of Stetson, ME and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Stewart, Heather Stewart, Douglas J. Jordoin and Leeanne Small, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 1996, at the Bradgdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, ME. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sabattus, ME.
