Amarinthia "Emma" Susan Muldrew Cook Keeble married John Houston Keeble (1845- 1882) after the death of his first wife, Martha Caroline Muldrew Keeble (1850-1875), her sister. Emma was a widow at the time. The Muldrew sisters were the daughters of John David Muldrew and Martha Caroline Baker.

Martha and John had four children whom Emma continued to raise after John's death. They were: James Taylor, John David, William Lafayette, and Mary Caroline Keeble.

Emma and John Houston Keeble had a son, Samuel, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Georgia Houston Keeble (1862-1911).
