Dorothy L. Gordon, age 72 a resident of Woodstock and formerly of Front Royal, VA passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011.
A funeral service for Mrs. Gordon will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Banks Swanson officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County.
She was born on March 27, 1938 a daughter of the late Carl August & Nellie Virginia Shirley Eckley. She was a member of the Front Royal Senior Center and the widow of the late Archie Adams Gordon. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Allyson Renae Gordon.
Survivors include her children, George Adams Gordon, Front Royal, Scarlett O. Grady, Bentonville, VA, Archie "Jeff" Gordon, Strasburg, Lisa M. Gloyd, Great Cacapon, WV, and Shannon M. Gordon Bernard, Woodstock; her sisters, Faye Eckley, Front Royal, Mae Lansberry, Front Royal, and Lena Wade, New Windsor, MD; fourteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Grady, Delmer Grady, Jr., Andy Grady, Jeffrey Gordon, TJ Bowers, and Virgil Henry.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Penwell, Michael Grady, Chris Grady, Adam Gordon and Mikey Grady.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral from 7-9 P.M. Thursday evening.
