George W. Goodman, 68, died Sunday morning at 2:25 o'clock in the Decatur and Macon County hospital. He had been in the hospital since December 3, suffering the effects of
a stroke of paralysis in October, and second and third strokes which came later. Mr. Goodman was born Nov. 29
1859 in Vandalia. He lived in Vandalia until about 1906, when he came to Decatur. His wife, Mrs. Diana Goodman, died about 40 years ago. Mr. Goodman was a member of the
Baptist church and the Modern Woodmen camp at Vera.
He is survived by three children: Mrs. Nola Ingles, Mrs. Ethel McDonald and Thomas Goodman of Mulberry Grove. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There are three stepsons, John Eakle of Springfield, Wesley Eakle
of Brighton, Tenn., Lee Eakle of Vandalia, and a step daughter, Mrs Henry Curry of Decatur. His sisters are Mrs. Noma Frakes of St Elmo and Mrs. Lovincy Hayes of Sapulpa, Ok., and a brother, Jefferson Goodman of Vandalia.
The body was taken to the J. J Moran & Sons funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Moran chapel. Burial will be in Fairlawn.
