Pratt Wilton Jessup is the son of Timothy H. Jessup and Hannah Pratt Jessup and grandson of Thomas Jessup (Jessop) and Sarah Small Jessup (Jessop) (Find A Grave Memorial# 59135411)and of William Pratt and Sarah Borden Pratt of North Carolina. Pratt Jessup emigrated to Hendricks County, Indiana with his family and father and settled in the Sugar Grove area south of Plainfield, Indiana. After his wife Hope's death, he moved to Howard County, Indiana.

Thomas was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England and emigrated to Carteret County, North Carolina (Find A Grave Memorial# 59135379 and 13410375). Thomas is a Revolutionary War Patriot from Guilford County, North Carolina.

Pratt Wilton Jessup is buried in the Pioneer Section of this cemetery and according to records is either an unmarked grave or tombstone was lost to time. (Presumably only a tombstone still exists for Elizabeth George Jessup now.) Pratt Wilton Jessup is buried near his son and daughter-in-law Reuben and Elizabeth George Jessup. The Pioneer Section of this cemetery is separate from the main cemetery and was inaccessible during the summer when I visited there due to dense overgrowth of on the forest floor and high water in the creek that separates it from the main cemetery.
