Mrs. R.C. "Brownie" Luker

Mrs. R.C. "Brownie" Luker, 78, died in Granbury Friday, April 20. A Granbury resident for the past two years. Mrs. Luker was born June 5, 1905 in Comanche County, where she married R.C. Luker November 23, 1923.

Prior to residing in Granbury, Mrs. Luker lived in Brownwood for 20 years and has also resided in Fort Worth.

Mrs. Luker, a member of the Baptist Faith, is survived by two daughters, Jan Woods of Albany, Georgia and Brownie Dewbre of Brownwood; two sons, Garry Luker and Ken Luker, both of Granbury; seven sisters, Audrey West, Bertha Hollingshead, Gladys McGuire, Jackie DeWitt, Connie Bagley, Fern McDonald and LaNell Newton, and one brother, Elwyn Lane. Mrs. Luker is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Early. Interment was at Eastlawn Cemetery in Brownwood with Rev. Garland Johnson officiating, assisted by Rev. Lowell Scoggins.
