Anthony J. Jacobs, 86, formally of Silver City passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Las Cruces.

Visitation will begin at 3pm on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Baca's Funeral Chapels followed by prayer vigil and rosary at 4 pm recited by Deacon Bill Holguin. Inurnment will be held at Fort Bayard National Cemetery on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10 am with Veteran honors accorded by the local Veteran groups.

Mr. Jacobs was born September 7, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Anthony and Agnes Ann (Steyskal) Jacobs. He work for Chino Mines from January 1957 until October 1986 and also served in the US Army during World War II.

Anthony is survived by his wife Carmen, son Joseph Anthony Jacobs of Silver City, daughter Victoria Medford and husband Mike of Las Cruces and 2 brothers Francis Jacobs of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Jerome A. Jacobs of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving him are six grandchildren.

He is preceded by his parents.
