Mrs. Fredericka Markwardt of Fair Haven died February 26 at her home at the age of 83 years. She was the widow of Fred Markwardt who died eight years ago. She and Mr. Markwardt were pioneer settlers in Fair Haven township to which they came 56 years ago. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, and at 2 p.m. in the Lutheran church at Fair Haven with Rev. John Beck officiating, Burial will be In the Fair Haven cemetery. The body is at the family home.

Mrs. Markwardt was born in Two Rivers, Wis., on February 18, 1858. Her marriage to Mr. Markwardt took place in Two Rivers on February 24, 1881. They lived for three years in Manitowoc, Wis., and then came to Fair Haven Surviving sons and daughters are Mrs. Paul Schulz of Marion, N. D William and Louis Markwardt of South Haven, and Arthur Markwardt of Kimball. There are 12 grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister survive William Stueck of Embarass, Wis.; John Stueck of Two Rivers; Mrs. Herman Meyer, Sheboygan, Wis.
