The daughter of Lucien Bonaparte Price and his wife Ellen was first married to John Boursiqout Fontaine. Fontaine was Medical Director of the Calvary Corps Army of Northern Virginia. The surgeon died on the field of battle in October of 1864. After the war Lizzie married George Pittman Haw, who became Hanover County Commonwealth Attorney. The Price family lived at Dundee, not far from Hanover Courthouse. That location and circumstances gave opportunity for Major General Jeb Stuart, a cousin, to visit from time to time during the Civil War. Lizzie and her sister Nannie were two attractive, unmarried residents that drew the attention of Stuart's staff.
