Dwight Andrew Sperry, aged 73 years, died Sunday at his home in Syracuse, after a long illness. He was born at Woodbridge, Ct., and his father, Roger S. brought the family to Jordan when he was three years of age. Here the older Sperry was engaged in cooperage, barrow making, and banking, until 1879, when he went to Syracuse as senior member of the firm of Sperry, Neal & Hyde. When his father left Jordan, he remained, and in company with Stephen L. Rockwell he continued the barrow business. At the formation of the Syracuse Dry Goods Company he was one of the active stockholders in the conduct of the business. Later he went to Baldwinsville and bought an interest in thc dry goods firm of Williams & Co., after the death of George Davis, a member of that concern. This connection he continued up to a few months ago, when he disposed of his interest because of ill health All these years he retained his residence in Syracuse, commuting every. Besides his wife he is survived by one son Prof E E Sperry of Syracuse University and a daughter Celia E Sperry.
