Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Mark Prevo officiating, assisted by the Reverend Robert C. Clark. Burial will follow in the Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born February 16, 1918, in Pekin, Illinois, a daughter of Claude and Ruth Martin Cochran. She married Dr. Lovell A. Neal on May 15, 1945. He passed away November 6, 1955. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Wade.
Survivors include her children, Edward C. Neal and wife Lynn and Stephan G. Neal and wife Deborah, all of Mattoon; one stepdaughter Paula Coker of Mattoon; two grandchildren, T. Cortland Neal and wife Beth of Chicago and Adrianne C. Neal of Mattoon; one brother, Marshall Cochran and wife Lena of Charlotte, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Neal was a retired nurse at General Electric. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Ostomy Club, Moose Auxiliary, Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Club.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Ostomy Club, American Cancer Society or First Christian Church.
