Lesty Was declared insane and was transported on the train to the state hospital in Salem, Oregon by the Sheriff and one of her brothers. She had been starving herself and died on the train before they reached their destination.
She and Her Father, John, were originally buried in Griffin Creek Cemetery. After a disagreement with the owners, Mary Kime purchased a family plot containing 10 sites in Jacksonville Pioneer Cemetery and moved Lesty and John to their new resting place in 1894.
