Bowman and Mary had six children: Mary Ethalyn Hendershot Johnson (1874-1944), Sarah Ida Hendershot Honsaker (1866-1945), John Howard Hendershot (1869-1929), Robert Franklin Hendershot (1886-?) and Charles Veach Hendershot (1884-1950). According to a family researcher, Charles had a twin, gender not specified, who died in infancy. The 1900 U.S. census said Mary had six children, five living.
Mary died on 25 Nov 1913 in Fayette County, Pa. Bowman died on 01 Mar 1927 at the home of his son Charles in Morgantown, Monongalia County, W.Va. Bowman and Mary are buried in the Greendale Cemetery, also known as the Mennonite Cemetery, Masontown, Fayette County, Pa., Find A Grave Memorial# 66293874 and 66340749.
