Lem and Leila's oldest child was born in Memphis and then he was transferred to Desoto Missouri where the other 3 surviving children were born. Leila and Lem lived in a home overlooking the little town of Desoto. Lem had a stroke and was transferred to General Hospital in Memphis Tennessee where he died Oct. 1931 leaving Leila with 4 young children to raise. Leila met and married her last husband Rufus W.
