H/O Hattie Rossete Smith. Son of James Marion and Mary Hale Stacey. Came to Florida on Horse and Wagon from Alabama. member Of Peniel Baptist Church.

His parents are buried at Hollister Cemetery. I hope to photo and get these added soon.


Eugene Stacey, 62, resident of this county for almost half a century, was stricken suddenly as he waited upon a customer at the Hawkins street filling station at 3:30 p.m. yesterday, dying shortly after he was rushed to Glendale Terrace hospital. He was elected county surveyor in 1932.
Death was attributed to heart disease.
Born in Alabama, Stacey had resided in the county since he was 15 years of age. Most of the time he lived in the Peniel section, where he was a past grandmaster of Pineland Masonic Lodge.
Besides the widow, five sons and five daughters survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Peniel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bennett officiating.
Interment will be in the Peniel Cemetery, where Masonic Rites will be observed at the grave.
