Gladys Helen Henderson, 72, of Byron and formerly of Rochester and Cannon Falls, died peacefully on Sunday evening, July 23, 2006 at the Country Care Adult Foster Home in Byron.
Gladys was born on August 18, 1933 in Lakeland, Georgia, the daughter of Lonnie William Royal and Utha (Mixon) Royal. She attended Lakeland High School in Georgia, and later married Ralph J. Henderson on June 18, 1955 in Phoenix, AZ.
She had been a waitress at The Pit in Phoenix and in Cannon Falls at the Cannonball Restaurant and Country Kitchen.
Gladys enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, and especially enjoyed watching the deer in the yard in Byron. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by them all!
Her husband of over 50 years, Ralph died on March 10, 2006 in Rochester. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Ronald; brother, Bill Royal; and sisters, Kathleen and two infant sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Beth) Henderson of St. James, MN and Gary Henderson of Rochester; grandchildren, Thomas, Alexander, Ross, Ahnah and Samuel Henderson; sisters, Wylene Edward of Utah, and Inez "Mickey" Grayson of Texas; brother, Clarence Royal of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will were held at the Stanton United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow at the Stanton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Nick and Nathan Robinson, Ryan Goodwin, Scott Henderson and Doug Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Thomas, Alexander, Ross, Ahnah and Samuel Henderson.
